You are a Franciscan!
You live an authentic life and keep true to yourself and your beliefs. You value your friendships and you form very deep familial bonds with people (even with those who aren't related by blood). You're generally easy going and, whether you're introverted or extroverted, you don't have trouble making friends. You tend to take on the burdens of others, however, and that can sometimes lead to extra stress in your life. Earthly things like money and possessions bring you little true joy - that comes from the love you share with the world.

More information about The Franciscans
The Franciscans were founded by Saint Francis of Assisi in the 13th century. St. Francis was born Giovanni di Pietro di Bernardone in the year 1181 or 1182 in the Holy Roman Empire. He grew up very wealthy and enjoyed wearing fine clothes and spending money on extravagant pleasures. He eventually abandoned this life of luxury to devote himself to serving God and His church through poverty. St. Francis teaches not only to live the Gospel through poverty, but also through humility and service to the poor, sick, and marginalized. Today there are over 650,000 Franciscans in 110 countries. Thanks, St. Francis!
St. Francis is the patron saint of:
- Animals
- Ecology
- Merchants
- Italy
- And more!
Fun Franciscan Facts:
- The Franciscans are a mendicant order which means they live solely off the generosity of others.
- The cord that Franciscan friars wear around their waist has three knots to represent the three vows they take: poverty, chastity, and obedience.
- There are three orders of Franciscans: the Friars Minor, the Poor Clares, and the Brothers and Sisters of Penance.
- St. Francis and St. Dominic (the founder of the Dominican Order) met in Rome while on business and became friends! To this day both Franciscans and Dominicans exchange visits on each other's founder's feast days as a sign of unity towards a common goal. That's some brotherly love!
